GSMR Group Sales Coordinator

Compensation: $16-19/hour + Commission
Job Summary: Oversees Group Sales and serves as the company’s Group Sales Representative at regional group travel-oriented trade shows, networking, creating new relationship opportunities, presenting sales presentations, writing contracts, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and build good relationships with tour directors, escorts, and group travel companies.
- Enter and maintain all group (20+ passengers) or car charter reservation requests in reservations system while assisting clients with questions regarding trips, travel plans, and other area attractions. .
- Enters deposits, final payments, and maintains passenger adjustments, cancellations, re-bookings, etc.
- Acts as the GSMR representative for the area to include, but not limited to, lodging and activities.
- Provide Group Sales orders and details to the appropriate departments on a timely and organized basis.
- Maintain GSMR’s group sales contact list.
- Responsible for meeting sales calls quotas on a weekly basis.
- Maintains complete and accurate records for group sales.
- Knowledgeable with Great Smoky Mountains Railroad’s policies and procedures.
- This is a public facing role with direct customer service and hospitality.
- Provide hands-on leadership with employees, colleagues, the public and passengers.
- Other duties as requested by GSMR & AHR management.
Work Environment:
- Mostly office environment
- Work on and off the train in varied terrain in all weather during both daylight and dark hours
- Varied schedule throughout the year dictated by train, groups, private charters and event schedules.
