Head of Business Development, Global Banking Services
Lead the launch of OWNY's Global Banking Services product by developing expansion strategies, building relationships with banks, negotiating partnerships, overseeing onboarding, monitoring markets and regulations, collaborating with internal teams, and tracking business development performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a global strategy to expand banking services in emerging markets
- Identify market opportunities and analyze regional dynamics, competitive landscapes, and banking needs
- Create outreach strategies for bank decision-makers
- Build and nurture relationships with small and medium-sized banks
- Negotiate contracts and structure partnerships
- Oversee end-to-end client onboarding and service integration
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments
- Conduct market research to identify growth and partnership opportunities
- Collaborate with product development, compliance, and operations teams
- Set and track business development KPIs
- Report performance updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in global business development, partnership building, or sales within banking or financial services
- Experience expanding services to small and medium-sized banks in emerging markets
- Experience with correspondent banking, foreign exchange, and payments
- Experience working with financial institutions in diverse regions
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strategic thinking and complex problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of international banking regulations, compliance standards, and market entry strategies
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus
