Head of Procurement

The Head of Procurement will lead and manage the procurement function, ensuring cost-effective, efficient, and quality procurement strategies. This role is critical in driving the organization’s contracting projects by developing supplier relationships, negotiating agreements, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards. The Head of Procurement will align the procurement strategy with business goals to deliver high-value outcomes. RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Procurement Leadership - Develop and implement the company’s procurement strategy to project operations and achieve cost savings. - Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure a reliable and diversified supply chain. - Oversee the preparation and execution of long-term procurement plans aligned with project timelines. Supplier Relationship Management - Establish and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers. - Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or service. - Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts to meet the company’s goals. Operational Excellence - Manage procurement activities, including material and equipment sourcing, subcontractor selection, and tendering processes. - Ensure timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services to avoid project delays. - Oversee inventory management and ensure the optimal stock levels are maintained. Compliance and Risk Management - Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory and company procurement policies. - Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies. - Monitor contracts to ensure terms are met and compliance standards are upheld. Team Leadership - Lead, train, and mentor the procurement team to build a high-performing department. - Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members and evaluate performance regularly. - Promote a culture of accountability, efficiency, and innovation within the team. Reporting and Analysis - Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings to senior management. Use data analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in procurement processes.

QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. - Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the contracting or construction industry. - Strong knowledge of local and international sourcing, procurement practices, and contracting regulations in the UAE. - Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems. SKILLS & ABILITIES - Excellent negotiation skills with suppliers. - Excellent communication and coordination skills with relevant stakeholders. - Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and guide the team. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
