Head of Product Design
Lead the strategic vision for product design across platforms, contribute to major product initiatives, recruit and mentor designers, partner with product and engineering, uphold design quality, and champion user research, accessibility, and inclusive experiences.
Responsibilities
- Set and champion the product design vision
- Lead delivery of consistent, high-quality design across the product ecosystem
- Contribute directly to important product projects
- Recruit, develop, and mentor product designers
- Partner with product and engineering teams
- Uphold visual and interaction design standards
- Champion user research, data, empathy, inclusion, and accessibility
- Navigate complexity and change with calm leadership
Requirements
- 10+ years of product design experience
- At least 5 years managing design teams
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design excellence, systems thinking, and user-centered problem solving
- Experience across web and mobile consumer products
- Experience scaling and leading design teams in a tech-driven product environment
- Expertise in end-to-end product design from research to implementation
- Understanding of design systems, accessibility standards, responsive design, and UI/UX trends
- Strong business acumen
- Familiarity with agile environments and product development cycles
- Exceptional visual and interaction design skills
- Leadership, communication, organizational, and planning skills
