Head of Treasury
About the Role:
Our client is a well-established regional supply chain and logistics group with a strong presence across Asia.
They are looking for an experienced Head of Treasury to lead the Group's treasury function, with a strong focus on capital structure, fund raising, debt financing and financial risk management.
This is a strategic leadership role suited to an experienced Treasury, Corporate Finance or Investment Banking professional who has hands-on experience in debt financing, structured finance, capital raising or project financing.
Responsibilities:
Treasury Strategy & Capital Structure
- Lead the Group's treasury strategy and manage the overall capital structure to optimise funding costs and financial risk.
- Develop treasury strategies and funding plans to support the Group's business and expansion requirements.
- Evaluate and structure appropriate financing instruments to optimise the Group's funding structure.
- Oversee Group cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning and cash position management.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with banks, financial institutions and other funding partners.
- Develop and enhance treasury policies, processes, controls and reporting for senior management and C-suite.
Fund Raising & Financing
- Lead the Group's fund-raising and debt financing activities to meet funding requirements.
- Review, evaluate and negotiate financing proposals and terms with banks and lenders.
- Structure and recommend appropriate financing solutions to Management.
- Lead negotiations on financing and legal documentation with banks and relevant stakeholders.
- Work closely with Legal and Tax teams on offshore funding structures, fund injections and fund flows.
- Liaise with investment banks, financial institutions and external advisors on strategic financing and capital market opportunities.
Debt Portfolio Management
- Oversee the Group's debt portfolio, including loan drawdowns, rollovers and repayments.
- Monitor compliance with loan covenants and financing conditions.
- Review funding requirements and cash flow positions for projects supported by financing facilities.
- Identify potential funding gaps and optimise the utilisation of available financing facilities.
Interest Rate & FX Risk Management
- Identify and monitor interest rate and foreign exchange exposures across the Group's debt portfolio.
- Develop and implement appropriate interest rate and FX hedging strategies.
- Evaluate market movements, interest rates and foreign currency trends to support treasury decisions.
- Manage both transaction-level and balance sheet hedging requirements.
Leadership
- Lead and develop a small treasury team of approximately 2–3 professionals.
- Partner closely with senior management, Finance, Legal, Tax and business leaders on strategic financing and treasury initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement of treasury processes, systems and controls.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in Treasury, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking or Capital Markets. Candidates with an Investment Banking background and experience in debt financing, structured finance, capital raising or project financing are highly preferred.
- Multi-product treasury experience and FMRP (Financial Markets Regulatory Practices) certification in Singapore will be an advantage.
- Experience in corporate financing, structured financing, syndicated loans, capital markets or investment banking transactions will be an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and senior management across all levels to achieve mutually acceptable outcomes.
- Demonstrated determination and resilience in driving treasury initiatives, implementing policies and improving processes, even in challenging environments.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and commercial acumen with the ability to structure financing solutions that support the Group's long-term business objectives.
