HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR
SUMMARY
The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and functional support to the Human Resources Department including the areas of general office support and administration, compensation and benefits, payroll, recruiting, orientation and onboarding. This position requires the ability and commitment of maintaining a high level of confidentiality related to all work activities.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Responsible to the Director of Human Resources and has a support responsibility to other departments as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides administrative support and consultation in employment functions, including the coordination of recruitment activities, facilitation of job descriptions and selection processes, and implementation of employee orientation programs, onboarding, training, performance evaluations and corrective actions.
- Assists in the preparation and/or positing of positions on the COA Website and various other locations, as needed/requested by the Director of HR.
- Completes reference checks, post-offer background checks, and other preemployment requirements.
- Verifies education and employment history on applicants and conducts primary source verification for licensure, certifications, registrations, etc.
- Prepares and maintains employee personnel files ensuring information is complete and compliant.
- Completes all required screening and background checks for volunteer applications, including FDLE or FBI Level II, OIG, Dru Sjodin and career offender.
- Assists with benefits administration, open enrollment, maintenance of benefit records and any other activity related to benefits as requested.
- Provides support and coordination with compliance activities for family/medical leave, accreditation, workers’ compensation and personnel records.
- Oversees and maintains confidential materials, policy and procedure manuals and personnel files.
- Tracks license and insurance renewals and expirations to ensure compliance with all credentialing requirements.
- Serves as back-up to front reception desk and/or customer service department as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
