Human Resources Officer
As Human Resources Officer, you'll be the first point of contact for Wave Cameroon employees' onboarding, compliance, and other human resources requests. You'll collaborate with the People team and other departments to ensure a great employee experience and business continuity. You'll manage onboarding, maintain employee records, support audits, assist with payroll preparation, and help with employee exits.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operations of all human resources functions
- Manage end-to-end onboarding processes for new hires across new markets
- Collect, verify, and file pre-employment documentation in line with local legal requirements
- Set up and update employee records in the HRIS
- Coordinate onboarding schedules with relevant stakeholders
- Conduct or facilitate induction sessions covering company culture, regulations, conduct, and policies
- Track probation period end dates and coordinate related payroll actions
- Create onboarding checklists tailored to each country's regulatory requirements
- Help improve employee experience
- Provide strategic and administrative support to the Human Resources Manager
- Maintain employee files for completeness and audit-readiness
- Support periodic HR audits
- Compile and update employee records in hard copy, soft copy, and HRIS
- Process documentation and prepare staff activity reports
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and country legislation
- Assist with payroll preparation
- Ensure compliance in relationships with interim firms
- Coordinate HR projects and assist the broader People team
- Assist with employee exits, including exit interviews, offboarding checklists, and HRIS updates
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in English and French
- Three to five years of relevant experience in human resource management
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, social studies, or equivalent; further HR training is a plus
- Good knowledge of HR functions including employee integration, employee experience, payroll and benefits, recruitment, compliance, and training and development
- Strong understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures
- Strong ethics and reliability
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to take initiative and adapt to changing priorities
