We are looking for a senior, hands-on Infrastructure Engineer with deep experience across Active Directory, Windows Server and VMware, and a strong background delivering AD security, hardening and remediation initiatives in complex enterprise environments.
The role will suit an engineer who is comfortable maintaining critical Windows infrastructure, but who can also take ownership of security-focused Active Directory initiatives and work closely with Architecture, Cyber Security and project teams.
The Role
You'll be responsible for supporting, administering and improving core server infrastructure, with a particular focus on Active Directory, Windows Server and VMware.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering, administering and supporting enterprise Active Directory environments
- Driving AD security uplift, hardening and remediation initiatives
- Managing Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and related identity infrastructure
- Supporting complex multi-domain and/or multi-forest Active Directory environments
- Identifying AD security risks and implementing appropriate remediation
- Administering Windows Server 2016-2022
- Managing VMware environments through vCenter 7+
- Performing VMware ESXi host upgrades, patching and lifecycle activities
- Managing Windows Server patching through Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM)
- Troubleshooting complex infrastructure, identity and server-related issues
- Working closely with Cyber Security, Architecture and project teams
- Contributing to infrastructure design, documentation, change and continuous improvement

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate experience personally driving security-focused AD initiatives such as:
- AD and GPO hardening
- Privileged access remediation
- Service account / gMSA improvements
- Domain and forest trust remediation
- PKI / certificate-related security
- Legacy authentication remediation
- Security baseline implementation
- Multi-domain or multi-forest AD remediation
- Working with Cyber Security teams to address identity and infrastructure risk
Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:
- Linux - RHEL and/or Ubuntu
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- Citrix, including Citrix Cloud / DaaS
- Cisco UCS and/or HyperFlex
Beyond the technology, you'll be someone who communicates clearly, approaches problems analytically and can work effectively across BAU, architecture and project teams.
This role will suit an experienced Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys being technically hands-on while still having exposure to strategic infrastructure projects and enterprise-scale environments.
