Infrastructure Engineer
About the role:
We are seeking a skilled infrastructure engineer to join our IT team in Riyadh. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain our core infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance of Linux and Red Hat-based systems and IBM hardware. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and drive infrastructure improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Linux and Red Hat server environments
- Manage and troubleshoot IBM hardware platforms and operating systems
- Implement infrastructure monitoring, backup, and recovery solutions
- Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to support end-to-end service delivery
- Automate routine tasks using scripting and configuration management tools
- Document system architecture, procedures, and incident reports
- Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and system upgrades
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices
Required qualifications:
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience as an infrastructure engineer or similar role
- Strong expertise in Linux operating systems and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Experience managing and troubleshooting IBM server hardware
- In-depth understanding of OS installation, configuration, and patch management
- Proficiency with shell scripting for automation and task orchestration
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Preferred qualifications:
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification
- IBM Certified Specialist in Power Systems or System z
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM)
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Terraform)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing)
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Experience with performance monitoring tools and capacity planning
