IT Security Architect

Develop and maintain the company's security architecture, create information security policies and procedures, implement security technologies, secure network architectures, provide security training and documentation, manage complex security escalations, oversee project engineering staff, and assess security risks in a remote contractor role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain corporate security architecture
• Create and maintain information security policies and procedures
• Select and implement information security technologies
• Create information security training programs
• Collaborate with software development teams on security issues
• Design and secure network architecture and processes
• Serve as the highest-tier escalation for complex security issues
• Direct and oversee project engineering staff
• Create and manage security documentation
• Assess and manage security risks and improve related processes
• Ensure timely completion of security project tasks
• Collaborate with business leaders to align IT security processes

Requirements

• 5 or more years of experience working in IT Security
• Degree in Information Security or equivalent required; postgraduate degree preferred
• Hands-on system administration, network administration, or both required
• CISSP certification desired
• Experience with complex, large-scale software development projects desired
• Experience using Agile concepts to manage the Software Development Lifecycle
• Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English required
• Motivated, self-driven, flexible, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
• Understanding of Atlassian team management tools or similar
• Ability to work independently using secured equipment
• Apple Mac device required for contractor work
