Japanese + English Speaking Community Manager (MMORPG)

Build and nurture Soulbound's Japanese audience by managing Japanese Discord channels, engaging creators and players, localising communications, running culturally resonant events, and advising the wider team on Japanese community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage dedicated Japanese Discord channels, including structure, roles, bots, and moderation
• Develop a Japanese community growth strategy targeting MMO players, guild leaders, and content creators
• Build relationships with Japanese YouTubers, streamers, and gaming content creators
• Engage Japanese gaming communities on Twitter/X, Niconico, YouTube, and 5ch
• Work with Japanese MMO guilds to bring organised groups into Soulbound
• Localise announcements, patch notes, and event communications for Japanese audiences
• Run community events tailored to Japanese player culture
• Prepare weekly reports on community sentiment, growth metrics, creator pipeline, and cultural insights
• Advise the wider team on culturally resonant content and potential missteps
• Coordinate cross-community events and consistent messaging with the Community Director

Requirements

• Native-level Japanese reading, writing, and speaking
• Fluent professional English
• Deep personal experience with MMOs
• Knowledge of the Japanese gaming content creator landscape
• Experience with Japanese online communities including Discord, Twitter, Niconico, and 5ch
• Knowledge of Japanese MMO guild culture
• Self-starter who proactively identifies opportunities
