Java/JEE Senior Software Engineer (Backend Systems, AFC)

Role:

• Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-volume, high-performance backend systems for an Automatic Fare Collection platform.

• Produce and maintain SDLC deliverables including Business Rules, SRS, Architecture Documents, Design Specs, Interface Specs, Test Plans, O&M Manuals, and Training Manuals.

• Provide day-to-day application support and troubleshooting in production.

• Liaise with business users, stakeholders, and back-office teams on requirements, design, and UAT.

• Collaborate with development teams to deliver scalable, reliable software solutions.

• Contribute to software modernization efforts including containerization and migration to microservices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise software development.

• Proven experience delivering at least 1 full SDLC with documentation.

• Strong experience in Java/JEE, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.

• Hands-on with web application development, database interfacing using JDBC and SQL.

• Experience with UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.

• Experience in Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices.

• Experience with software modernization, containerization, and microservices architecture.

• Experience with message queues. Solace experience preferred.

• Experience in database design, development, and performance tuning.

• Exposure to Cloud Computing, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS services such as ECS Fargate, RDS, and Lambda is an advantage.

• Domain experience in Automatic Fare Collection systems is an advantage.

• Knowledge of EMV and PCI DSS standards is an advantage.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English.
