The Opportunity
Step into a critical role securing and developing our IT infrastructure. As the Junior Network Engineer, you will act as the primary escalation point beyond initial IT support to resolve complex network, server, and infrastructure faults.

You will administer enterprise systems including Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows Server, while configuring and troubleshooting switches, routers, and firewalls. Working closely with senior engineers, you will also support advanced cybersecurity frameworks like the ACSC Essential 8 and ensure our daily backups and disaster recovery protocols are robust and reliable.

About You
You are an analytical and proactive IT professional who thrives on solving complex technical problems. You possess strong communication skills, allowing you to clearly convey technical concepts to staff and stakeholders while managing sensitive information with high discretion.

To succeed in this role, you will bring

  • A Certificate IV in Information Technology (Networking) or a relevant technical discipline.

  • Two to three years of experience in Systems Administration, Network Administration, or advanced IT Escalation Support.

  • Strong hands-on experience managing Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Windows Server environments.

  • A solid practical understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, routing, and switching.

  • A current Class C Drivers Licence and a successful National Criminal History Check.

  • Desirable criteria include previous Local Government experience, exposure to enterprise equipment like Fortinet or Cisco, and relevant industry certifications such as CCNA or ITIL.
