Lead System Administrator
Summary
Lead System Administrator at a global Financial Services organization in Singapore, administering on-prem Exchange (2019/SE) and Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, and Windows Server/AD infrastructure with ownership of Exchange-to-Microsoft 365 migration activities.
Overview
A leading global organization in the Financial Services industry is looking for a Lead System Administrator to be based in Singapore. This is a hands-on infrastructure role with a strong focus on Microsoft Exchange Server, Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID, supporting a secure and reliable enterprise environment. You will work closely with the global teams across infrastructure, IAM, and workplace technology, with particular ownership of Microsoft messaging administration and Exchange migration activities.
Responsibilities
You will administer and support the organization's on-premises Microsoft Exchange environment (Exchange 2019 / Subscription Edition) and Exchange Online, taking responsibility for day-to-day administration, troubleshooting, mail flow, mailbox management, distribution groups, and licensing. A key part of the role will be planning and delivering migrations from on-premises Exchange to Exchange Online / Microsoft 365, including hybrid coexistence and cutover activities.
You will also support messaging-related activities across Microsoft Entra ID and Azure, including integration with SSO and federation technologies such as OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and SAML, while partnering with the relevant IAM and workplace teams. Beyond messaging, you will maintain core Windows infrastructure including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and AD Connect, support incident and change management, maintain security and audit readiness, and use PowerShell to automate routine administration.
Requirements
You should bring strong, hands-on experience administering on-premises Microsoft Exchange, ideally Exchange 2019 or Subscription Edition, together with direct experience planning and executing migrations to Exchange Online / Microsoft 365. This should include practical ownership of Exchange administration and migration activities rather than solely providing project or troubleshooting support.
Experience supporting an in-house enterprise IT environment and its end users is important, along with solid knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Azure / Azure Stack, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, DNS/DHCP, AD Connect, and PowerShell. Familiarity with identity and access technologies including Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC/PIM, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and SAML will also be valuable. You should be comfortable working collaboratively within an established team, taking ownership of operational issues, sharing knowledge, and providing support outside normal business hours or traveling when required by the role.
