As a learning & development manager, you’re not just managing training initiatives for hotel team members – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Here's what you'll do during a typical day:

• Develop training programs: Design, plan, and deliver hotel training programs in alignment with corporate goals and industry standards, inclusive of topics such as harassment-free workplace, diversity, new team member orientation, leadership, and service.
• Monitor and review performance: Conduct meetings with department managers, trainers, and team members to review performance trends, develop action plans, and recognize achievements.
• Deliver continuous improvement: Assess existing training initiatives, identify opportunities for enhancement, and recommend solutions to address specific department needs.
• Manage training records: Track, maintain, and audit individual team member training records using designated systems and tools.
• Oversee departmental training programs: Manage and monitor department-specific training programs such as beverage awareness, food safety, job skills checklists, and educational assistance.
• Inspire and develop the team: Supervise and support team members, monitor performance, provide coaching, and foster a positive and productive work environment.

• Previous experience delivering training programs in hospitality environment is an asset.
• Knowledge of adult learning theory and the essential elements of training.
• Knowledge of how to develop training programs.
• English language writing skills to develop written correspondence and training materials. Ability to relate in English to all levels of management and employees in spoken and written form.
• Ability to observe employees in the workplace, analyze operation and detect issues of concern with regard to areas such as employee performance, grooming, training, policy adherence and morale.
• Charismatic, organised, energetic, fun and creative.
• Able to develop strong relationships with colleagues and leaders.
• Ability to identify individual talents and develop others.
• Highly passionate about the company mission, promise and values.
• Computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva and Outlook.
• Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including public speaking.
• Strategically plans, implements and orchestrates to achieve goals.
