Legal Counsel
We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in supporting our global operations and strategic growth.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Legal, support the provision of legal advice, assist in managing legal risks and help ensure compliance across relevant business functions. Work closely with the Head of Legal to integrate legal considerations into operational initiatives and escalate material legal issues where appropriate.
Assist in providing legal advice to business units and senior management on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters, with a focus on logistics and supply chain operations.
Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, including customer agreements, project logistics, 3PL, warehousing, procurement, employment and lease agreements, with supervision for more complex or strategic matters.
Liaise with external counsel and assist in managing engagements, including preparing instructions, consolidating information, reviewing draft advice and tracking timelines.
Point of contact with Elanders Group on all legal matters relating to Mentor Supply Chain’s operations, including corporate housekeeping, auditor queries and specific projects.
Support the management of legal risks, disputes and litigation, including finding, document management and coordination with external counsels and relevant authorities.
Assist in providing legal support for mergers and acquisitions, company integrations, restructuring exercises and inter‑company agreements, including basic due diligence and document review.
Help monitor and support compliance with local and international laws and regulations (including customs, trade, transport and data privacy) as well as internal policies, and assist in implementing practical mitigation measures and internal guidelines.
Prepare materials and, where appropriate, attend internal management or board‑related meetings to provide legal input under the guidance of the Chief of Staff, Head of Legal or senior counsel.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the business and prepare concise updates or guidance notes for stakeholders.
Undertake any other reasonable duties / projects which may be required from time to time.
Job Requirements
Degree in Law, preferably with a focus on corporate, commercial or international law.
2–4 years of post‑qualification experience, in private practice and/or in‑house, with solid exposure to commercial contracts; experience in logistics, supply chain or related sectors will be an advantage.
Strong foundation in commercial and corporate legal work, with a pragmatic, business‑oriented mindset and willingness to learn the operational aspects of the business.
Good communication, drafting, negotiation and analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across cultures and functions.
Ability to handle day‑to‑day matters independently at an appropriate level of complexity, while seeking guidance where needed, and to collaborate as part of a cross‑functional team.
