Legal Project Manager

Overview
The Premier League Singapore office is looking to recruit for a Legal Project Manager. The role will support a range of activity across the Premier League’s Singapore office, contributing to legal, broadcasting, commercial, community and operational priorities. Working closely with colleagues and external stakeholders, the successful candidate will help deliver projects and activations that support the Premier League’s international work, including stakeholder engagement, direct-to-fan initiatives, football development activity and wider business objectives.

We have a wide variety of responsibilities. These include organising the competition and its Handbook as well as managing the centralised broadcast and commercial rights. The work we do in conjunction with the Clubs also goes far beyond the 90 minutes. We support and provide a framework for youth development, we protect the organisation’s intellectual property, support the wider game and community programmes, undertake international development work and liaise with governing bodies and other leagues.

Our hybrid-working model also allows you some variety on your place of work, offering you the chance to work from home on some days each week. Where possible, you will attend the office or site visits in line with our company policy. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.

The role

  • Contributing to legal workstreams, including matters relating to anti-piracy and regulatory frameworks and developments.
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement events, including preparation, coordination, and on-the-ground delivery.
  • Supporting the delivery of direct-to-fan initiatives, bringing an understanding of operational and regulatory considerations.
  • Contributing to broadcasting workstreams.
  • Progressing community and football development projects in Singapore, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with Legal, Broadcasting, and Commercial colleagues to deliver set objectives and outcomes across projects and activations.
  • Undertaking ad hoc and project-based work. adapting to evolving business needs within a fast-paced international office.
  • Individual who has undergone professional legal training, with experience across multiple legal disciplines, such as regulatory and commercial.
  • Understanding of media rights, broadcaster relationships, or sports broadcasting.
  • Experience of working on commercial agreements for event-related work, and an understanding of the importance of elements such as safeguarding in those contracts.
  • Understanding of role anti-piracy initiatives play in the protection of media rights value.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables, exercising sound judgement with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, including the ability to quickly integrate into new teams and/or jurisdictions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Track record of working collaboratively across teams and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge or experience with the sports industry, particularly football.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with confidence to contribute meaningfully from the outset; the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate personal attributes aligned to a short-term placement.
  • High levels of energy, curiosity, and willingness to engage in a broad range of activities whilst in post.
