Mission: The Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy is a regulatory agency whose goal is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public as well as the integrity of the profession by regulating the practice of massage therapy. The Board seeks to ensure that massage therapists meet certain educational levels, comply with ethical and legal standards applicable to the profession, and that massage establishments are in compliance with the laws and rules governing massage establishment operations.

Overview of Role:

The Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy is a small office that supports the seven-member Massage Therapy Board. Our office is centrally located in EBRP. LBMT is looking for a Licensing Analyst to join our team. The Licensing Analyst position is a vital part of the regulatory process and offers support for new and current licensees.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

  • Serves as the head resource and first point of contact for those needing guidance on statutes, rules, regulations, applications, licensing, license management, renewals, website assistance, and other information.
  • Responsible for administrative and office support functions
  • Examines and analyzes information submitted by each applicant for licensure accuracy, authenticity, and completeness of information to document determination of eligibility and qualification for licensure.
  • Oversees and audits license management functions
  • Processes license renewals
  • Assists with Board meeting preparation, inspection management, correspondence, and data recording.
  • Assists with hearing preparation, investigations, and complaints

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational or Job Appointment

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Licensing Analyst 1, 2, or 3.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
