Lighting Designer & Programmer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Lighting Designer & Programmer to join our live entertainment production team. This role is responsible for conceptualizing, programming, and executing lighting designs for live shows and scripted performances, ensuring a seamless integration of lighting, visual content, and music to deliver exceptional audience experiences.
The ideal candidate possesses strong artistic vision, a deep understanding of musical dynamics, and excellent technical programming capabilities. They should be able to collaborate effectively with VJs, production teams, and other stakeholders to create immersive and impactful visual environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lighting Design & Show Programming
-Design, program, and execute lighting effects for live performances, scripted shows, and special events.
-Develop lighting sequences that align with show concepts, music arrangements, stage direction, and audience engagement objectives.
-Program lighting cues with accuracy and consistency to ensure smooth show execution.
-Contribute creative ideas that enhance the overall visual presentation and audience experience.
2. Show Operation & Cross-Functional Collaboration
-Operate and monitor lighting systems during rehearsals and live performances.
-Work closely with VJs, technical teams, stage managers, and performers to ensure synchronization between lighting, video, and music elements.
-Adapt lighting effects in response to performance requirements and live show conditions when necessary.
-Participate in production planning, rehearsals, and technical run-throughs.
3. Equipment Maintenance & Technical Support
-Perform routine inspection, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of lighting equipment.
-Ensure lighting systems are operating safely and efficiently before, during, and after productions.
-Maintain proper documentation of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and technical issues.
-Support equipment setup, dismantling, and storage activities as required.
Key Requirements:
-Diploma, Professional Certificate, or equivalent practical experience in Lighting Design, Event Technology, Technical Production, Performing Arts, or a related field.
-Proven experience in lighting design, programming, and operation for live entertainment, concerts, events, theatrical productions, or similar environments.
-Experience working with Yunpeng Q2B-Q3 lighting systems or comparable professional lighting equipment is preferred.
-Strong visual aesthetics and creative lighting design capabilities.
-Solid understanding of music structure, rhythm, timing, and their application in lighting programming.
-High level of precision and attention to detail in lighting cue programming and show execution.
-Ability to collaborate effectively with VJs and multidisciplinary production teams.
-Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under dynamic live-event conditions.
-Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, based on production schedules.
