Manager, Asset Planning & Development (Retail Design Management)

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate retail mall planning requirements and layout design for new projects and asset enhancement initiatives (AEIs)
  • Formulate retail development brief for new projects and AEIs that meets the leasing and operational requirements of the organization
  • Participate in space planning and detailed design process for new retail and mixed-use projects as well as AEIs of existing malls
  • Assist to formulate mall-specific shopfront and signage design guidelines for new projects and existing malls alike
  • Manage tenancy fit-out design guidelines (to be applied across all FEO malls) as and when necessary, to be keep abreast with current market best practices
  • Review and evaluate tenancy fit-out design submissions to ensure consistency with base design guidelines, as well as mall-specific guidelines
  • Ensure well-designed tenancy fit-outs across the mall through coordination with Commercial Operations, as well as consultants and contractors where necessary
  • Undertake potential AEIs (mall-level), as well as feasibility studies (tenancy level) based on prospect requirements to improve mall occupancy and retail mix
  • Evaluate and report project performance and progress on a monthly basis to the management

Requirements

  • Master of Architecture or related degree in Interior Design / Interior Architecture
  • At least 7 years of experience in retail mall planning and design, asset enhancement initiatives, tenancy fit out design or retail design management
  • Team player who is adept in working collaboratively and independently where necessary to drive desired outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skill
  • Resourceful, constantly challenges status quo and open to experimenting new ideas through research and trials
  • Has a keen eye for details and a passion for creative thinking to resolve challenging issues in thoughtful and innovative ways
