The Manager, Clinical Skills assists in the development, implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of the School of Medicine's clinical skills curriculum, in close collaboration with the SOM leadership. This includes an integrated three-year competency based clinical skills training and assessment, including assessment of the Core Entrustable Professional Activities for undergraduate medical education. This role assists in the development of a clinical skills program that offers the advantages of state-of-the-art and advanced classroom and clinical settings.
**The position is Part Time with no benefits - schedule will be two full days per week, generally Tuesday and Wednesday
Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Manager, Clinical Skills at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Works closely with course and clerkship directors as well as faculty to assist development and implementation of curricula that includes classroom, simulation, and clinical-setting based educational experiences.
- Teaches and mentors students in small groups, large groups, workshops, and simulation settings.
- Assists in the development and implementation of multi-station Block OSCE Examinations.
- Participate in the management and operations of the Standardized Patient Program .
- Helps manage curriculum and simulation activities.
- Manages staff under the clinical skills program including but not limited to conducting performance evaluations and ensuring that staff adhere to HMH polices.
- Oversees remediation activities for students; including participating in student promotion and support activities.
- Participates in the development and implementation of EPA-based metacognitive courses.
- Assist with sessions and grading as well as direct student support.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- MD or DO degree required.
- Minimum of 3 or more years of relevant medical education experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Medical Education Leadership experience.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- NJ medical license eligible.
