Manager, Maritime Training & Learning & Development
Responsibilities
Lead maritime training and development initiatives for seafaring personnel in line with operational and business needs.
Develop and maintain competency frameworks, training matrices and learning plans for different shipboard roles.
Coordinate mandatory, technical, safety and professional development training in line with maritime regulations and company standards.
Work closely with Marine HR, Fleet, Technical and Safety teams to identify training needs and capability gaps.
Support career development and promotion readiness for seafarers through structured learning programmes.
Manage external training providers, maritime academies and other learning partners.
Promote the use of e-learning, simulation, Workday Learning and other digital training tools to improve learning effectiveness.
Monitor training completion, competency development and programme effectiveness using relevant learning data and feedback.
Ensure training records and documentation are accurate, updated and ready for audits or compliance reviews.
Manage the training budget and recommend improvements to programmes, processes and learning resources.
Requirements
Degree in Maritime Studies, Human Resources, Learning & Development, Business, Marine Engineering or a related discipline; maritime professional qualifications would be advantageous.
At least 7 years of relevant experience in maritime training, seafarer development, Marine HR, Learning & Development or competency management.
Good knowledge of maritime training and regulatory requirements, including STCW; exposure to TMSA and shipboard competency development is preferred.
Experience in training needs analysis, competency frameworks, training programmes and LMS platforms, preferably Workday Learning, as well as other digital learning tools.
Strong communication, stakeholder management and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across multicultural and operational teams.
