Manufacturing Test Engineering Manager

Graphcore seeks an experienced Manufacturing Test Engineering Manager to lead end-to-end manufacturing test strategy from L6 board assembly through L11 rack integration and final system validation. The role manages manufacturing test engineers and partners across hardware, firmware, platform, validation, quality, operations, and manufacturing organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own end-to-end manufacturing test strategy from L6 board assembly through L11 rack integration.
  • Develop standardized manufacturing test methodologies and standards for high-volume server manufacturing.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3–5 Manufacturing Test Engineers.
  • Allocate team resources and serve as the technical escalation point for manufacturing test and production issues.
  • Lead DFT, DFM, manufacturing readiness, and test coverage reviews.
  • Partner with JDM, ODM, and contract manufacturing organizations.
  • Define test infrastructure, factory automation, network infrastructure, and data traceability requirements.
  • Plan manufacturing capacity and monitor manufacturing quality metrics.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze field failures and manufacturing escapes to improve test strategy and diagnostics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing test engineering, production engineering, or hardware manufacturing.
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience.
  • Experience managing technical teams.
  • Experience with high-volume server, storage, networking, or AI infrastructure manufacturing.
  • Experience developing manufacturing test strategies from board level through rack level.
  • Experience working with JDM, ODM, or contract manufacturing partners.
  • Expertise in ICT, MDA, board functional test, rack-level manufacturing test, manufacturing diagnostics, Linux, and automated test systems.
  • Experience defining test infrastructure, fixture requirements, and production capacity planning.
  • Understanding of server hardware architecture, firmware, BIOS/BMC, networking, and power systems.
  • Demonstrated success improving yield, reducing manufacturing escapes, and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Preferred: master’s degree, hyperscale or AI infrastructure experience, Python or Bash, MES, factory analytics, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma certification.
