Marketing Senior Analyst/Master Analyst, Customer Strategic Solutions

JOB SUMMARY


The role provides strategic, analytical, project coordination and stakeholder engagement support for Vale strategic projects in and outside China, with focus on Chinese stakeholders from various business areas and linked to various subjects such as green hydrogen, renewable energy, concentration, logistics and decarbonization, etc. The position converts fragmented market, technical, partner and policy information into decision-ready insights, executive materials and project actions. It supports the General Manager and senior stakeholders by tracking project priorities, coordinating cross-functional inputs, preparing executive updates and ensuring follow-through with internal and external counterparts.

The role requires strong internal connection across business development, engineering, process, commercial, legal, logistics, energy and project teams, as well as effective external coordination with steelmakers, technology providers, EPC / engineering partners, consulting firms and other ecosystem stakeholders. It requires bilingual business communication, structured problem-solving, policy and market intelligence capability.


MAIN CHALLENGES


  • Translate complex and fast-changing information on China’s decarbonization-related initiatives actionable implications for Vale’s MegaHub strategy and China Strategy.
  • Coordinate multiple workstreams across Vale functions and external partners while maintaining alignment on priorities, deadlines, open issues and management guidance.
  • Prepare concise executive-level materials under tight timelines, converting technical, commercial and policy inputs into clear decision-ready messages.
  • Manage sensitive internal and partner information with discretion, accuracy and strong judgment.Influence without formal authority across international teams, functions, cultures and time zones.
  • Maintain continuity and knowledge ownership across meetings, studies, partner visits, action lists and project updates.
  • Perseverance and resilience in handling challenging problems and tough questions from clients/Vale.
  • Working under multi-task environment with pressures to meet deadlines and client expectations.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Support the General Manager of MegaHub Asia Solution in strategy development, project prioritization, executive preparation and cross-functional coordination.
  • Key controller of the project status of MegaHub initiatives involved by the Chinese investors, and maintain update of all the ongoing initiatives with a panorama view of each of them, so as to be able to recommend opportunities, make prioritization and alert risks to the GM and the project team.
  • Develop structured analysis on China’s green hydrogen, renewable energy, DRI/HBI, carbon market, logistics and low-carbon steel ecosystem to support Vale’s MegaHub strategy and China Strategy.
  • Coordinate technical clarification, proposal review, contract scope input, internal comment consolidation and partner responses with relevant Vale functions.
  • Prepare and update concise management materials for board, CSS, steering committee, performance review and senior leadership discussions.
  • Act as working-level interface with internal Vale teams including marketing, engineering, legal, commercial, process, logistics, compliance and project development teams.
  • Coordinate external engagement with Chinese and international partners, steelmakers, technology providers, EPC / engineering companies, consultants and industry experts.
  • Capture meeting minutes, key takeaways, action items, study assumptions and next steps to maintain project continuity and knowledge ownership.
  • Monitor project issues, milestones, risks, open questions and management guidance to ensure timely follow-up and escalation.


EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred in metallurgy, energy, economics, business, strategy, engineering, international trade or related fields.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience for Senior Analyst level; 10+ years preferred for Master Analyst.
  • Preferred background in steel, mining, industrial decarbonization, with prior experience from business development, project development, strategy consulting, marketing.
  • Strong understanding of the entire iron ore value chain, and keen to learn and adaptive to changing global market dynamism to be able to capture opportunities arising from decarbonization.
  • Critical skills include strategic analysis, structured problem solving, executive communication, project management / coordination, stakeholder management.
  • High ownership, confidentiality, resilience, independence, attention to detail and ability to operate under ambiguity and senior-management pressure.
  • Strong team spirit, enjoy and promote collaboration across multiple areas and in a multi-cultural environment
  • Fluent English and Chinese required; Portuguese is a plus.
