Job Purpose
To design Closure components and systems to meet vehicle performance, safety, reliability, profitability and manufacturing requirements, while crafting the envisioned multisensory experience for our customers.
Key Accountabilities
- Assisting with project schedules
- Coordinating project meetings
- Providing regular status updates and reports
- Contributing to budget, timeline, and project goal achievement efforts
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum Experience
- 0 to 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Previous co-op or internship experience preferred.
Job-Specific Skills
- Familiarity with 3D CAD software (CATIA experience is a plus).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Decisions Expected
- Propose and analyze multiple design solutions, evaluating trade-offs and determining the best option to balance conflicting technical, cost, timing, and performance objectives.
- Assess design studio concepts and determine whether they can be developed into feasible, manufacturable constructions.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and determine whether they meet technical, quality, cost, and program requirements.
Working Conditions
Majority of work is performed at a computer, some interaction in test lab, fabrication and manufacturing environments required, 5-10 hours/week OT as needed, occasional travel.
