Member of Technical Staff, Trading (Derivatives)
Implement and maintain institutional cryptocurrency trading systems, influence the Brokerage team's technical direction, solve complex problems, review code, improve instrumentation and metrics, estimate projects, collaborate cross-functionally, and mentor engineers.
Responsibilities
- Participate in task breakdown, estimation, design, implementation, and maintenance of trading systems
- Influence the technical direction of the Brokerage team and advocate for improved processes or technology
- Solve complex, ambiguous problems with elegant and practical solutions
- Review developers' code for consistency, error reduction, and knowledge sharing
- Implement instrumentation and metric collection to drive iterative system improvement
- Break down large projects and accurately estimate time and scope
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the Brokerage team and other teams
- Mentor and guide multiple engineers in the area of specialization
- Share knowledge across the team to avoid single points of failure
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience with Go
- Experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, cloud development, database design and interaction using MySQL or PostgreSQL, and Git
- Knowledge of financial asset trading systems, including topics such as OEMS, FIX protocol, market data, low-latency architectures, matching engines, FX trading, OTC, derivatives, risk management, cryptocurrency trading, and trading back-office systems
- Real-world experience building financial trading systems
- Passion for TDD, SOLID, refactoring, and sound software engineering practices
- Commitment to code quality and test infrastructure
- Ability to collaborate, learn from, and mentor others
- Bonus: GraphQL or gRPC API design and implementation experience
- Bonus: finance industry background
