We are looking for an experienced Manual QA Engineer to join a retail project focused on testing web applications.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality through comprehensive manual testing, designing effective test cases, performing backend validation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.
You will be dealing with:
- Perform manual testing of web applications across multiple environments.
- Design, create, execute, and maintain detailed test cases and test scenarios.
- Validate backend functionality through API and database testing where applicable.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using Azure DevOps.
- Participate in test planning and contribute to the project's overall test strategy.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Analyze test results and provide clear, actionable defect reports.
- Share testing knowledge, best practices, and support continuous process improvement.
- Work independently while managing testing activities and meeting project deadlines.
Your profile:
- 3+ years of experience in manual testing of web applications.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or similar test management and bug tracking tools.
- Strong understanding of test case design techniques and testing methodologies.
- Extensive knowledge of the software testing lifecycle and quality assurance processes.
- Experience implementing and following project test strategies.
- Practical knowledge of backend testing, including API and database validation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote environment.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to acquire and share knowledge.
- Practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery.
Work from Bulgaria and a work permit are required.
Nice to have:
- Experience working on Retail or eCommerce projects.
- Familiarity with SQL and REST APIs.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Basic understanding of test automation concepts.

Experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily work.
- Interest in and familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices (e.g. agent-based workflows, automation patterns, AI-augmented development), with a willingness to explore and experiment beyond standard approaches.
