Mobile Engineer, Digital Identity (Fully Remote)

Work at the intersection of engineering, customer delivery, and digital identity to design, build, and deploy mobile-first identity solutions. Implement secure Flutter architectures, integrate backend identity services and cryptographic libraries, ensure accessibility and compliance, advise customers during deployments, and provide operational support.

Responsibilities

• Lead Flutter mobile application design and development for state governments and enterprise customers.
• Collaborate with delivery leads, backend engineers, and UX designers on deployments.
• Translate customer and policy requirements into secure mobile architectures.
• Advise public-sector partners on mobile security, identity standards, and best practices.
• Build privacy-preserving applications meeting security, accessibility, and compliance requirements.
• Integrate mobile applications with backend identity services, cryptographic libraries, and platform APIs.
• Contribute to shared Rust and cross-platform libraries.
• Support customer deployments, debugging, and operational needs.
• Represent SpruceID directly with partners during pilots, launches, and ongoing engagements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience shipping production mobile applications.
• Strong experience building Flutter applications for iOS and Android.
• Ability to lead mobile architecture and deliver secure production systems.
• Experience integrating mobile applications with backend services and APIs.
• Familiarity with secure storage, key management, and authentication flows.
• Excellent communication skills and customer-facing consulting or delivery experience.
• Based in the United States and able to engage directly with state government partners.
• Experience with digital identity, verifiable credentials, DIDs, or authentication systems preferred.
• Background in cryptography, data privacy, or secure mobile systems preferred.
• Familiarity with Rust or Rust-based mobile libraries preferred.
• Experience with WCAG and mobile accessibility preferred.
