Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

The Mobile Equipment Operator 1 – Heavy will operate heavy mobile equipment to accomplish farming operations in support of field research related to breeding improved sugarcane varieties and production practices.

  • Maintain drainage systems (10%)
  • Operate tractor-mounted precision laser and leveling equipment and other dirt moving equipment (10%)
  • Maintain roads and sugarcane loading sites (10%)
  • Operate tractors 117-150 hp with various field implements (50%)
  • Operate mechanical sugarcane combine harvester (10%)
  • Perform routine maintenance on all equipment as needed (10%)

  • Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
  • Location: USDA-ARS Sugarcane Research Station in Shriever, La.
  • This position is not eligible for remote employment.
