Network Engineer – Corporate IT

The Network Engineer designs, implements, administers, and optimizes CleanSpark’s corporate network infrastructure across office and operational environments. The role owns network health, incident response, troubleshooting, hardware and infrastructure projects, VPNs, firewalls, monitoring, documentation, lifecycle management, and collaboration with cybersecurity and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and administer corporate network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VPN services, and related equipment.
• Own incident response for network alerts, service disruptions, and connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Layer 1–3 network issues using structured diagnostic methods and root cause analysis.
• Lead installation, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Meraki, UniFi, firewall, and supporting network hardware.
• Perform network health checks, monitoring, log reviews, and preventative maintenance.
• Manage firmware updates, patching, hardware replacements, and scheduled maintenance windows.
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, inventories, configuration records, and change management documentation.
• Ensure compliance with IT security, change management, and configuration management policies.
• Provide technical support through ticketing systems, Microsoft Teams, email, phone, and in-person interactions.
• Administer and troubleshoot VPN connectivity, firewall policies, DHCP, DNS, wireless networking, and related services.
• Plan and execute network expansion, cabling, hardware deployment, and site infrastructure upgrade projects.
• Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and business teams to improve network performance and reliability.
• Improve monitoring tools, operational processes, and technical documentation.
• Communicate clearly and promptly about incidents, requests, and project activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience administering enterprise or corporate network environments.
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, BGP/OSPF, DHCP, DNS, QoS, 802.11 wireless networking, and IPsec and SSL/TLS VPN technologies.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex Layer 1–3 connectivity, performance, and security issues.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms; Cisco Meraki and/or Ubiquiti UniFi experience preferred.
• Experience with network monitoring, alerting, or ticketing systems.
• Experience administering VPN solutions and firewall platforms, including policies, access rules, site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, and security baselines.
• Proficiency with CLI diagnostics, SSH, packet capture tools, and network management platforms.
• Ability to maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, inventories, and change records.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage competing priorities, and lead technical efforts independently.
• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Meraki CMNO, CCNP, CompTIA Security+, or Fortinet NSE preferred or advantageous.
• Ability to work on-site and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds, climbing ladders, installing equipment, and working in network closets or data centers.
• Willingness to travel to company offices, mining sites, and other locations as required.
• Must be insurable under the company vehicle insurance policy when operating a company vehicle or traveling between job sites.
