A leading Sydney based managed services provider are looking for an experienced F5 Network Engineer / F5 SME to provide dedicated support across a range of network infrastructure projects and BAU initiatives for a major telecommunications client.
This is a hands-on role covering physical and virtual F5 deployments, software upgrades, legacy migrations, and platform onboarding across multiple data centre sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Support F5 builds using physical R2800 appliances across multiple sites, including LTM and GTM configurations
- Contribute to F5 Lab build activities (physical R2800 appliances, LTM/GTM)
- Manage F5 software licence expansion activities
- Support GTM builds at additional sites
- Perform F5 software upgrades for VM-based deployments (upgrading from v17.5.1.3 to the latest minus-one supported release)
- Lead and support legacy F5 migration activities, including design, onboarding, and migration for multiple use cases
- Support onboarding of prepaid platform services (including hosting, control, and reporting infrastructure)
- Support eSIM platform onboarding, including customisation activities in collaboration with F5 Professional Services
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP technologies, specifically LTM and GTM (DNS) modules
- Experience with physical F5 appliance builds (R-series hardware highly regarded)
- Strong understanding of F5 software licensing and upgrade processes
- Experience with legacy platform migration, including design and onboarding
- Familiarity with telecommunications or carrier-grade network environments highly regarded
- Experience working alongside vendor Professional Services teams
- Strong stakeholder engagement and documentation skills
