Summary
Network Engineer maintaining BAU IP critical infrastructure (DNS/DHCP/NTP) and load balancing services across Asia at a banking client, while driving network automation adoption. Core stack includes F5/VMware AVI load balancers, Cisco NSO, Python/C++ scripting, REST APIs, and routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP) on Cisco Catalyst/Nexus platforms.
Network Engineer – Load Balancing Engineering
Position Description :
- The role is to cover the BAU activities of IP critical infrastructure as well as the load balancing services for Asia. In additional the engineer will be assisting the adoption of automation use cases in region as devised by the global team and actively look for new use cases for automation to improve productivity.
- 8+ years relevant experience in network space.
- Deep understanding in F5/AVI Load Balancing /DNS/DHCP/NTP/.
- Working experience on Python or C++.
- Understand RESTful API.
- Shift not required.
Team Overview :
The IP – Automation team under Network Services is to provide IP Critical Services, Load Balancing and Network Automation capabilities to the LOB. IP Critical services include DNS/DHCP/NTP which is the backbone of all IT services. Load balancing provide geographical& local server load balancing servers to application servers. Automation is to provide productivity improvement using scripting, zero human touch in devices provisioning, move, add & change work in the network platform leveraging on Cisco NSO technology.
Key Responsibilities :
The role is to cover the BAU activities of IP critical services infrastructure, the load balancing services. The role will be maintaining the currency of the hardware & software platform, platform migration activities, leveraging virtualization platform to gain operation /capital efficiency, devise system solutions, operation plan and user request process enhancement.
- Cross team integration – Automation will touch on all other network vertical
- Maintain platform currency of load balancing services and onboard new client to use LB services.
Skills and qualifications requirement include :
- Degree educated or equivalent in IT, Computer Science or related disciplines.
- Working experience in providing network solution design and implementation to large scale data networks and perimeter security domain.
- Minimum 7 to 9 year working experience in similar capacity in the banking & financial industries.
- Hands on design and engineering knowledge on network load balancing product such as F5 Network, VMWare AVI, DDI platform BlueCat DNS solutions.
- Certification on vendor product like CCIE / CCNP, F5-CTP etc.
- A strong networking background, with in-depth knowledge on commonly used routing protocols and networking systems including but not limited to use of BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Multicast, Cisco Catalyst & Nexus product suites.
- Understanding security best practices and regulatory requirement and could apply that in their design philosophy.
- Have working experience on deploying virtual network appliances and essence of the underlying virtualization platform like VMWare ESX or NSX-T.
- Good interpersonal skill, a team player with good written & verbal English communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work with associates across various time zones.
- An analytical, independent and self-initiative approach to work.
