Onboarding Specialist
You will bring in-depth expertise in customer KYC and AML due diligence to onboard new counterparties across legal entities and individuals in various jurisdictions. Reporting to the MLRO, you will support Operations and Compliance by reviewing onboarding documentation, assessing counterparty risk, performing screenings, investigating transaction monitoring alerts, and improving processes and counterparty experience.
Responsibilities
- Onboard new counterparties in a timely manner
- Review counterparty documentation and ensure consistency with AML/CTF procedures
- Complete periodic KYC reviews and refresh onboarding documentation
- Manage, maintain and review onboarding documentation
- Complete risk assessments and escalate AML/CTF concerns to the MLRO
- Perform wallet, PEP, sanctions and adverse media screenings
- Analyse counterparty data and generate business development insights
- Work with trading, business operations, product and compliance teams to optimize and automate processes
- Investigate automated transaction monitoring alerts for AML/CTF relevance
- Assist with other compliance projects as assigned
Requirements
- At least 3+ years of financial crime experience
- Experience with Elliptic and/or Chainalysis is a plus
- Knowledge of UK and EU AML regulations and UN, EU, OFAC and HMT sanctions regimes
- Experience running efficient B2B compliance processes at scale using automation and external tools
- Ability to understand new functional areas quickly with a cross-functional mindset
- Strong interest in algorithmic trading and decentralized finance
- Owner mentality focused on protecting the company from compliance risk
- Ability to be both a strategic thinker and hands-on executor
- Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to work non-standard hours if required
- Willingness to work from the London office
