Operational Risk and Transaction Manager (Foreign Bank)
Operational Risk Management
- Develop and maintain the Operational Risk Framework and related policies, encompassing:
- Third-Party Arrangement
- Business Continuity Management
- Operational Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and Head Office requirements
- Plan, execute, and document BCM tests, including reporting and follow-up on findings
- Conduct periodic reviews of third-party arrangements to identify and mitigate risks
- Maintain and update the call tree and risks indicators, regularly review of matric to enhance monitoring
Transaction Monitoring
- Systematically review and analyse customer transactions and account activity generated by the bank’s transaction monitoring system for potential money laundering, fraud, terrorist financing, or other illicit activity.
- Conduct thorough investigations of transaction monitoring alerts, which includes analysing customer profiles, transaction patterns, and relevant external data.
- Determine the legitimacy of alerted activity and decide whether to close the alert or escalate it for further investigation.
- Prepare clear, concise, and well-supported documentation of your investigation and decision-making process.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest money laundering and terrorist financing trends, schemes, and typologies.
- Assist in the preparation of data and summaries for potential Suspicious Transaction Report filings.
- Work closely with other internal stakeholders to resolve cases and share information.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, Law or related field
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in Operational Risk Management and/ or Transaction Monitoring roles
- Strong familiarity with relevant risk frameworks and compliance processes
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively within cross functional teams
