Responsibilities

  • Prepare, implement, and enforce the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) include In-Place Protection Plan & Arson Prevention Plan, and ensure full compliance with all fire safety requirements at all times.

  • Oversee the maintenance, testing, and operational readiness of all fire safety systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, hose reels, fire doors, and other installations, in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure that occupant load in all areas does not exceed the capacity prescribed under the Fire Code.

  • Conduct monthly fire safety inspections, identify fire hazards, and ensure timely follow-up and rectification actions.

  • Prepare and submit monthly, ad-hoc, and annual fire safety reports to the Building Owner / Management and SCDF, summarising actions taken, drills conducted, incidents, compliance status, and improvements planned or implemented.

  • Prepare, implement, and execute the ERP, and conduct at least two fire drills annually or as directed by SCDF.

  • Ensure all occupants are familiar with evacuation routes, emergency procedures, and means of escape.

  • Prepare and maintain fire safety guidebooks, evacuation guides, and safety communication materials for occupants.

  • Train, coordinate, and lead the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) in first aid, firefighting, and evacuation procedures.

  • Supervise the operation of the Fire Command Centre during fire incidents or emergency situations.

  • Conduct at least two Table-Top Exercises annually together with the Fire Safety Committee, and implement and review the Arson Prevention Plan.

  • Notify SCDF immediately upon the occurrence of any fire incident within the premises.

  • Organise and conduct fire safety awareness campaigns, training programmes, drills, and emergency preparedness activities to promote a fire-safe environment.

  • Liaise and coordinate with SCDF and relevant authorities on all matters relating to fire safety compliance, inspections, and regulatory requirements.

  • Carry out any other duties as required by the Commissioner, SCDF, or Building Owner in relation to fire safety management.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in mixed development, retail, commercial or industrial buildings
  • Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certificate
  • Registered with SCDF
