As a Peer Recovery Supporter your job duties and responsibilities will be:
- Educates clients on the purpose of peer support and recovery models.
- Provides clients with very clear definitions of recovery and its components.
- Intentionally share your story as appropriate, providing hope and help in changing patterns and behavior.
- Be well informed about trauma and explore with clients their experiences and support them in getting appropriate resources aide in their recovery.
- Help patients develop a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP).
- Help persons in crisis explore options to benefit in recovery and maintaining stability.
- Provide culturally-sensitive and age-specific services.
- Focus positively on emotional growth, strengths, and recovery goals.
- Encourage clients to become self-directed and focused on their strengths.
- Provide resources beneficial in recovery.
