• First- and second-shift opportunities available.
• Weekday and weekend schedules available.

• Multiple campuses (Austintown, Newton Falls, Boardman) based on program needs.

POSITION OVERVIEW The Peer Recovery Supporter (PRS) uses lived experience to provide hope, encouragement, and practical guidance to clients receiving substance use and/or mental health treatment. In this role, our male and female PRS help individuals remain engaged in recovery and build support beyond the clinical setting through goal-setting, life-skills development, advocacy, and connections to community resources while modeling responsibility in recovery. This position promotes safe, supportive, and effective client care while upholding the organization’s standards of excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Client Engagement, Mentoring, and Education
  • Provide recovery education, encouragement, and practical support throughout the recovery process.
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating self-care, responsibility, and wellness.
  • Help clients identify strengths, address barriers, and establish realistic, strength-based recovery goals

• Recovery Support and Advocacy
  • Connect clients with community resources and multiple pathways to recovery.
  • Advocate for client needs and support access to appropriate services.
  • Assist clients with life skills, natural supports, and successful community integration.
  • When assigned, transport clients in accordance with Company safety, vehicle, and credentialing requirements.
    
    
• Documentation and Team Collaboration
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record or designated system.
  • Promptly report safety concerns, behavioral changes, or relapse indicators to the appropriate team member.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, case reviews, and required training.
    

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
  
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current OhioMHAS Peer Recovery Supporter certification required.
• Successful completion of required BCI/FBI background checks and pre-employment drug screening.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS IF PLACED IN A DRIVING POSITION

• Valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Acceptable driving record, as confirmed through a Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Ability to satisfy all applicable Company, insurance, and transportation credentialing requirements.
• When use of a personal vehicle is required, reliable transportation and proof of required automobile insurance.
