Senior Platform Engineer

Location: Remote — LATAM

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Up to USD $8,500/month

Schedule: Minimum 6 hours overlap with US Eastern Time

Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to build and maintain internal engineering infrastructure, developer tooling, test environments, and data validation systems.

This role is primarily focused on platform development in Python, with significant work across Snowflake, Apache Airflow, Docker, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, PostgreSQL, and dbt.

The ideal candidate has experience building internal platforms or tooling that enable other engineers to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain on-demand and ephemeral test environments.
• Develop orchestration for Snowflake zero-copy clones.
• Develop orchestration for PostgreSQL copy-on-write clones or similar database cloning workflows.
• Build internal platform tooling and CLIs using Python.
• Integrate application services, scoring systems, dbt models, and Airflow pipelines into isolated environments.
• Build and maintain end-to-end test infrastructure and CI/CD integrations.
• Maintain versioned seed datasets for deterministic validation.
• Build infrastructure for production data monitoring and data quality checks.
• Implement idempotency, cardinality, and distribution monitoring.
• Build tracing, logging, captured artifacts, and debugging tooling.
• Improve failure diagnosis across application code, data, models, and infrastructure.
• Identify and resolve flaky or intermittent platform failures.
• Improve environment teardown and lifecycle management.
• Implement cost tracking and cost attribution for test environments.
• Implement data access controls for production-like environments.
• Partner with Infrastructure, Engineering, and Product teams.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture notes.
• Evaluate and use AI-assisted engineering tools when appropriate.

Must-Have Requirements

• Strong professional experience with Python.
• Hands-on production experience with Snowflake.
• Experience with Snowflake warehouses and cost controls / cost management.
• Strong experience with Docker.
• Hands-on experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Strong SQL skills.
• Strong understanding of relational databases.
• Experience building internal engineering platforms, developer tooling, test infrastructure, or developer infrastructure.
• Experience building tooling or systems used by other engineers.
• Strong engineering judgment and ability to design self-service systems.
• Practical experience using AI coding tools in engineering workflows.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Ability to work with at least 6 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time.

• Enable engineering teams to create and maintain their own checks independently.
