Summary
Pricing & Supply Analyst at Puma Energy/Trafigura in Guatemala City, responsible for pricing strategy, cost management, and supply chain optimization for petroleum products across Retail, BtB, and wholesale segments. Involves financial modeling, inventory cost monitoring, competitor analysis, and coordinating product scheduling with traders.
Function:
Pricing: Analyze planning, pricing and costing data in the marketing area of the given business units in Retail, BtB and wholesale segments; monitor international and domestic prices of petroleum products and provide timely information to the marketing and planning management team for effective decision making, implementation of development strategies and action plans. Setting the profit and loss top-line for the Retail, BtB & Wholesale segments. Define Pricing & Costing policy, design and implement process and tools for each segment, monitor pricing compliance.
Supply: Accountable for maintaining cost effective inventory levels by optimizing the supply chain. Ensures product is purchased at the lowest possible cost.
Projects: In charge of execution of special projects to improve margin. Analyze, understand and present local strategy improvements and results on special projects and business cases
Key Responsibilities:
1-Pricing Reporting & Strategy
Daily monitoring of volume, unit margin and gross margin generated by sales of petroleum products.
Analyze price change patterns of competitors and continuously adapt to it based on supply costs.
Continuous monitoring of international fuel prices.
Monitoring of sales of petroleum products
Maintenance of database of customers' price.
Develop and implement price strategy for each customer segment.
Create financial models (pricing tools & systems) that factor in competitive pricing while maximizing margin and volume at country level.
2- Pricing execution.
Ensure that the companies deliver margin and volume objectives based on daily supply costs.
Ensure pricing strategy, tools and systems provide clear guidance to sales teams.
Manage relationship with Trading and Sales Managers, providing guidance, coaching, bridging interfaces and communicate best practices.
Ensure price strategy is aligned with network plans & investments.
Ensure that all pricing condition is implemented with zero inaccuracy.
Generate pricing reports with timely and accurate information.
3- Planning and projects.
Execute, manage and monitor plans, ideas and/or projects established by the planning and pricing department.
Generate reliable information & data management tools for interpretation and analysis operationally and strategically.
Execute annual business forecasting, commercial targets by line of business in conjunction with local operation units.
Establish and measure company’s specific metrics and performance indicators with accuracy through frequent reports.
4- Cost Management.
Establish cost structure with cost build-up approach and share best practices.
Guarantee correct upload process into the systems & reports.
Identify cost savings by leading initiatives with Trading, Operations and Taxation teams in the countries
Analyze historical cost data in order to provide more accurate cost estimative. Constant monitoring of inventory costs of various fuel products to accurately estimate the possible results of the daily transactions of sale.
5- Product Purchase.
Purchase product at the lowest possible cost. Interact with Deals Desk and actively participate in optimizing the supply chain. Active participation in regular supply optimization meeting with Supply and marketers.
To lead supply flow of data between marketers and Supply.
Accountable for consolidating demand and stock progression forecasts, weekly reporting for the country to ensure consolidated communication to central Market Supply team.
Incorporates all in-country Other Oil Companies (OOC) primary supply requirements.
6- Coordination of Product Scheduling.
To ensure proper co-ordination/liaison with fuel suppliers to deliver quality products timely. Manage the interface with the Trader.
Ensure and/or develop an efficient road/rail transport plan to ensure supply reliability at existing supply points.
Requirements:
Experience:
- Undergraduate University Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or another similar field.
- Experienced in sales and costing an advantage
Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
