Position Summary

The night shift Production Manager will lead our night shift operations across print and finishing in a high-security, high-precision manufacturing environment. This is a critical leadership role with direct impact on throughput, quality, and execution—owning performance when it matters most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead night shift operations across multiple print and bindery/finishing processes.
  • Deliver against production targets while maintaining strict quality and security standards. Provide detailed reporting via shift reports and MES system.
  • Drive floor discipline—clear expectations, real-time problem solving, and decisive escalation.
  • Improve key metrics including yield, spoilage, throughput, and downtime.
  • Build strong, accountable teams—coach frontline staff and leads; address performance issues or opportunists head-on.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, security, and union requirements.
  • Partner cross-functionally (Quality, Security, Maintenance, Product Managers) to resolve issues and keep production moving.
  • Own shift handovers—clear, factual communication with no surprises.
  • Various other duties and responsibilities

Mandatory Requirements

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Fluent in English (speak, read, write)
  • Able to obtain (in a timely manner) and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) security clearance
  • Able to work night shift

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of leadership (people management) experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and practices
    • E.g. Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a print manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of leadership (people management) experience in a unionized environment
  • Strong understanding of print and print finishing processes
  • Relevant certifications (Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Data driven mindset
