Program Manager

About the Role
The Program Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing cross-team and cross-department activities in support of a product development program. This person will be well versed in the processes and procedures used to manage a collection of projects and will be key in the facilitation of those efforts. This role is expected to have the background necessary to operate at the individual project level but will operate primarily at the program level. The individual must possess the ability to operate with a strategic perspective, ensuring programs are prioritizing projects and their associated resources in a manner consistent with business priorities.
Responsibilities
- Point person for multiple cross-functional projects.
- Lead detailed planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of multiple cross-functional projects.
- Recognize and coordinate dependencies of multiple cross-functional projects, ensuring coordination occurs early and often.
- Establish, maintain, and communicate plans for associated multiple cross-functional projects.
- Communicate on behalf of project managers when required.
- Hold team members accountable, set clear performance standards and goals, resolve performance issues, and keep teams engaged and on task.
- Introduce new initiatives or concepts to the project teams.
- As needed, represent product development in audits and demonstrate traceability and compliance with written procedures for all product development efforts and releases.
- Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience, with a strong preference for experience in the software and medical industries — or an advanced degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
- Experience with regulated SaaS products and/or software-as-a-medical-device (SaMD) preferred.
- Track record of delivering complex programs on time and within budget.
