Project Architect

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Architect to join our Real Estate Development team in Dubai. The successful candidate will lead architectural design and project development activities across multiple stages, from concept through design development, authority approvals and construction.

The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent coordination skills and solid experience working within the UAE regulatory environment, including dealing with relevant government authorities, obtaining permits, NOCs and project approvals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate architectural design activities from concept through detailed design and construction.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, materials and design documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, engineers and other project stakeholders throughout the design and construction process.
• Liaise with relevant Dubai and UAE government authorities to manage design submissions, approvals, permits, NOCs and licensing requirements.
• Monitor the authority approval process and proactively address comments, revisions and compliance requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable UAE building regulations, codes, planning requirements and development guidelines.
• Review consultant and contractor submissions, shop drawings, material proposals and technical documentation.
• Identify design risks, discrepancies and constructability issues and coordinate appropriate solutions.
• Support tendering, contractor selection and technical evaluation where required.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure architectural works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate design changes during construction and ensure appropriate documentation and approvals are maintained.
• Monitor project progress against agreed design programmes and key milestones.
• Work closely with the Project Director / Project Head and other internal stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of drawings, approvals, authority correspondence and project documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related discipline.
• Significant professional experience in architecture, preferably within real estate development, consultancy or major construction projects in the UAE.
• Strong experience managing projects through architectural design, approvals and construction stages.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Dubai/UAE government authority approval, permitting, NOC and licensing processes.
• Experience coordinating with relevant authorities and regulatory bodies in Dubai.
• Strong knowledge of UAE building regulations, codes and development requirements.
• Experience reviewing architectural drawings, technical submissions, shop drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination involving structural, MEP and other specialist consultants.
• Proficiency in relevant architectural and design software.
• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
• Previous experience working on real estate development projects in Dubai or the wider UAE is highly desirable.
