Looking for your next long-term temporary opportunity where you can combine your project coordination and administration skills while contributing to meaningful work?

We’re looking for an experienced Project Coordinator to join a collaborative team in a government agency. Starting in September, this assignment runs through to the end of June 2027 and offers plenty of variety across project coordination, senior leadership support and general business administration.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Working within a busy programme team, you’ll help keep multiple pieces of work organised and moving forward while providing day-to-day support to senior leaders.

This is a hands-on coordination role rather than a traditional Project Manager position. You’ll organise meetings, manage actions and documentation, coordinate diaries and inboxes, support reporting and assist with the financial and administrative tasks that keep the team operating effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating meetings, documentation, minutes and follow-up actions

  • Providing calendar and inbox support to a senior leader

  • Maintaining project trackers, documentation and version control

  • Supporting project reporting and monitoring progress against deliverables

  • Coordinating team travel and other logistical requirements

  • Processing purchase orders, invoices and other financial administration

  • Formatting and preparing accurate documents using Microsoft Word

  • Using Excel and SharePoint to maintain information and records

  • Providing broader business and facilities support when required

Ngā Pūkenga me ngā Wheako | About You

You’ll ideally have at least 2–3 years’ experience in project coordination, business support or a similar administration role and be comfortable working with senior stakeholders.

You’ll bring strong Microsoft Word, Excel and SharePoint skills, although advanced Excel capability isn’t required. More important is your ability to stay organised, produce accurate work and keep track of multiple priorities and deadlines.

We are ideally looking for someone who has previous health sector or government experience.

You’ll also be:

  • Proactive and comfortable working independently

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

  • Confident communicating with senior leaders and stakeholders

  • Adaptable when priorities change

  • Comfortable working in a busy, deadline-driven environment

  • A collaborative team player who is willing to pitch in where needed

Ngā Painga | What's on Offer

  • $40 per hour + 8% holiday pay

  • Temporary assignment from 14 September 2026 to 30 June 2027

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

  • Manukau location, close to train and bus connections

  • Two-week handover and training period

  • Collaborative and supportive team environment

  • Hybrid working available once established – three days in the office and up to two days from home

  • Opportunity to build experience supporting senior leaders and develop towards future EA/PA or broader project coordination opportunities

For the initial two-week training period, you’ll need to be available to work in the Manukau office five days per week.

If you’re an experienced coordinator who enjoys keeping people, projects and priorities organised, we’d love to hear from you. Hit apply on this advert or if you would like more information contact Kirsty on 09 869 6255.
