Project Coordinator (M&E)
Summary
Project Coordinator overseeing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works — HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety — on Singapore construction and interior fit-out projects, from installation and commissioning through handover.
Core Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee all M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) works to ensure timely completion, compliance with project specifications, and alignment with the project timeline.
- Supervise the installation and commissioning of M&E systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and related components, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify that M&E works meet safety and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all M&E-related matters, liaising with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Work closely with consultants, contractors, and other trades to address and resolve technical issues and project challenges.
- Review and coordinate construction drawings across MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) disciplines, ensuring seamless integration with civil, structural, and architectural elements.
- Manage M&E project documentation, including progress reports, submittals, and quality checklists.
- Assist in procurement by evaluating tenders and selecting subcontractors and suppliers for M&E-related work.
- Monitor and control M&E costs to ensure the project stays within budget while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards for all M&E works, conducting regular safety audits and inspections.
- Provide post-project support, including defect rectification and addressing operational issues after handover.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in M&E coordination, preferably in interior fit-out or construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Familiar with construction drawings, project specifications, and technical documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) is an advantage.
- Experience in interpreting and coordinating electrical drawings, air conditioning schematics, security systems, CCTV, conference systems, AV setups, and related MEP components.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) for Construction Sites is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site during project hours.
- Occasional requirement to work weekends or outside regular office hours to meet project deadlines.
