Project Manager, Gas Generation
ABOUT FERMI AMERICA
Fermi America is building the largest private power campus in the United States to serve the compute demand of artificial intelligence. Project Matador, our flagship development in Carson County, Texas, is planned to scale to approximately 17 GW of generation, comprising roughly 11 GW of natural gas, 5.4 GW of nuclear, and 600 MW of solar. We deliver behind the meter power at a speed and density the incumbent grid cannot match.
THE ROLE
You will own a natural gas generation project on Project Matador from FEED through final investment decision (FID), construction, commissioning, commercial operation, and turnover to Operations. Scope may include simple cycle and combined cycle blocks, heat recovery steam generators, cooling systems, fuel gas conditioning, balance of plant, and the interconnection to the campus high voltage system.
This is a single point of accountability role on the owner side of the table. You carry the safety, cost, schedule, quality, and contractual outcome. You direct the EPC contractors executing the work. You make the decisions rather than recommending them to someone else.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Front end development: option screening, basis of design, FEED contractor management, and the estimate and sanction package supporting FID.
- Contracting strategy, bid evaluation, and administration of EPC and equipment supply agreements as the owner representative.
- Change order negotiation and defense of the company position against unsupported cost and time claims.
- The cost forecast, the Primavera P6 schedule, contingency, and decision grade reporting to executive leadership.
- Owner review of design, resolution of technical issues, and compliance with applicable codes and air permit conditions.
- Construction oversight, systems completion and turnover, and commissioning through first fire, synchronization, and performance testing.
- The safety standard on your scope, enforced without exception.
