About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Officer/Project Support Officer to join a major Federal Government digital transformation program. You will work closely with Project Managers, program leadership and delivery teams to support project coordination, governance, reporting, stakeholder engagement and administration. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is highly organised, comfortable managing competing priorities and experienced in supporting complex ICT or digital projects.

  • Rate: $550-$650/day + super
  • Location: Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne
  • Working Arrangement: Hybrid
  • Start Date: ASAP, estimated September 2026
  • Duration: Until 30 June 2027
  • Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
  • Security Clearance: Active Baseline clearance
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate day-to-day project administration and support activities
  • Maintain project schedules, calendars, registers and documentation
  • Track actions, milestones, risks, issues and dependencies
  • Organise meetings, workshops and governance forums
  • Prepare agendas, minutes, presentations and briefing materials
  • Support project planning and delivery activities
  • Prepare status reports and executive reporting inputs
  • Consolidate information from multiple stakeholders
  • Maintain document control and version management
  • Manage Teams, SharePoint sites and shared project repositories
  • Support procurement and contractor onboarding activities
  • Coordinate project records and administrative documentation
  • Engage with internal teams, subject-matter experts and external stakeholders
  • Monitor project actions and follow up outstanding items
  • Support audit, assurance and compliance activities
  • Maintain accurate and secure project records
  • Assist with Agile delivery and project tracking activities
  • Support resource coordination and project scheduling
  • Identify opportunities to improve project processes
  • Contribute to a collaborative and positive project team culture
About You
You will be an experienced Project Support Officer, Project Coordinator or PMO professional with strong administration, organisation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience supporting ICT, digital or technology projects
  • Strong project coordination and administration experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience maintaining schedules, actions and project registers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience preparing reports, briefings and presentations
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills
  • Experience with Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with project governance and reporting
  • Exposure to Agile or structured project delivery environments
  • Federal Government or APS experience is highly desirable
  • Experience in regulated environments is advantageous
  • Jira, Confluence or Microsoft Project experience is beneficial
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Australian citizenship is required for this position
  • Active AGSVA Baseline security clearance is required before commencement
  • Valid Australian working rights are mandatory
