QA QC Engineer Electrical
1. Quality Assurance (QA)
- Develop, review and implement Project Quality Plan (PQP), Method Statements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) for electrical works.
- Ensure compliance with Project specifications IEC, NEC, IEEE, BS standards Local authority regulations. Conduct internal audits and prepare for external audits. Verify that all electrical materials and equipment comply with approved submittals.
2. Quality Control (QC)
- Perform inspections for: Cable trays, conduits, Trunking, Cable pulling, termination & glanding, LV/MV panels, MCC, DB installations, Earthing & lightning protection, Light and power systems, Fire alarm, ELV & communication systems (if applicable)
- Execute/witness tests such as: Insulation Resistance (IR) Test, Continuity Test, Hi-Pot / HV Test, Earth resistance test, Loop impedance & RCD testing, Functional testing of equipment. Raise and close NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and maintain CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action).
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare: RFIs (Request for Inspection) MIRs (Material Inspection Requests) Test reports, Daily/Weekly QC reports QA/QC logs and checklists
o Maintain updated project QA/QC documentation for audits and handover.
o Assist in preparing As-Built documents and O&M Manuals.
4. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with:
- Project engineers
- Consultants/Clients
- Main/Subcontractors
- Safety team
- Attend QA/QC meetings and provide updates.
- Support site teams to ensure proper installation and compliance.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safe electrical practices in accordance with site HSE standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis for quality-related incidents.
- Verify adherence to LOTO, electrical safety rules, and permit-to-work systems.
Skills
The QA/QC Engineer – Electrical is responsible for ensuring that all electrical works at the project/site meet required quality standards, specifications, codes, and client requirements. The role includes inspections, testing, documentation, coordination, and leadership in maintaining the overall quality management system for electrical activities.
