QA/QC Manager – HVAC Manufacturing
1. Job Purpose
The QA/QC Manager will be responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring that all HVAC products manufactured by the company comply with:
• Saudi Aramco requirements and approved vendor requirements
• Approved project specifications and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
• Applicable international standards and codes
• Customer-approved drawings and technical submittals
• Approved manufacturing procedures and work instructions
• Contractual quality requirements
• ISO 9001 requirements
The position will have overall responsibility for Quality Assurance, Quality Control, inspection, testing, documentation, non-conformance management and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Quality Management System
• Establish, implement and continuously improve the company's ISO 9001-based QMS
• Maintain the Quality Manual, procedures, work instructions, inspection formats and quality records.
• Ensure effective implementation of:
o Document Control
o Record Control
o Internal Audit
o Corrective & Preventive Action
o Non-Conformance Control
o Customer Complaint Management
o Supplier Quality Management
o Calibration Management
o Training & Competency
• Establish measurable Quality Objectives and KPIs.
• Conduct periodic management reviews and report quality performance to senior management.
• Ensure QMS effectiveness across Engineering, Procurement, Production, Testing, Stores and Dispatch.
B. Saudi Aramco Quality Requirements
• Ensure compliance with applicable Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards, Material System Specifications, project specifications and approved vendor requirements.
• Maintain readiness for Saudi Aramco technical and quality audits/inspections.
• Coordinate with Aramco, clients, consultants, third-party inspectors and certification bodies.
• Prepare and maintain documentation required for technical and quality approval.
• Ensure products are manufactured only against approved drawings, specifications and applicable material numbers.
• Coordinate responses to inspection observations, NCRs and audit findings.
• Ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
Saudi Aramco may conduct factory assessments to evaluate the manufacturer's QMS and its capability to produce materials/equipment meeting applicable Aramco specifications.
C. HVAC Product Quality Control
Establish inspection and testing controls for products.
Ensure inspection at:
Incoming Material → In-Process Manufacturing → Assembly → Testing → Final Inspection → Packing → Dispatch
D. Incoming Material Inspection
Develop and implement incoming inspection procedures for raw materials.
Verify:
• Material certificates
• Manufacturer certificates
• Dimensions
• Thickness
• Grade
• Coating/galvanization
• Quantity
• Approved manufacturer/source
• Purchase specification compliance
E. In-Process Quality Control
Establish inspection checkpoints for HVAC manufacturing processes including:
Ensure that quality hold points and witness points defined in ITPs are properly implemented.
F. Testing & Final Inspection
Develop and control final inspection and testing procedures for products.
Coordinate client’s third-party inspections where required.
3. Inspection & Test Plans
The QA/QC Manager shall:
• Develop and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Establish inspection stages, acceptance criteria, responsible personnel and required records.
• Define Hold Points (H), Witness Points (W), Review Points (R) and surveillance requirements where applicable.
• Ensure inspections are carried out against approved drawings and specifications.
• Maintain traceability of inspection results to individual equipment/unit serial numbers
4. NCR & Corrective Action Management
• Identify and control non-conforming products/materials.
• Issue and manage NCRs.
• Perform root-cause analysis using appropriate techniques.
• Establish corrective and preventive actions.
• Verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Maintain NCR and CAPA databases.
• Monitor recurring defects and implement preventive measures.
5. Supplier & Subcontractor Quality
• Establish supplier qualification and evaluation procedures.
• Conduct supplier quality audits where required.
• Review supplier Quality Plans and ITPs.
• Verify supplier certificates and test reports.
• Monitor supplier NCRs and recurring quality issues.
• Maintain an Approved Supplier List.
• Coordinate third-party inspection of critical components.
6. Calibration & Measuring Equipment
Maintain the company's calibration system for all instruments and equipment applicable for production.
Ensure all measuring and test equipment has valid calibration certificates traceable to appropriate standards
7. Documentation & Quality Records
Ensure complete and controlled preparation of:
Ensure complete equipment traceability from raw material through final delivery
8. Audits
Plan and conduct:
• Internal QMS audits
• Manufacturing process audits
• Product audits
• Supplier audits
• Customer audits
• Certification audits
• Saudi Aramco inspections/audits Lead preparation for external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
9. Quality Improvement
Develop quality KPIs.
Use quality data to reduce rework, scrap, warranty claims and customer complaints
10. Team Management
Lead and develop the QA/QC team.
11. Minimum Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering or equivalent.
Certifications
Preferably:
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor
• Quality Management certification
12. Experience
Recommended: 7+ years total experience, including significant experience in:
• HVAC manufacturing (not mandatory) or any Manufacturing background
• Sheet-metal manufacturing
• Engineering equipment manufacturing
• QA/QC
• QMS implementation
• Supplier quality
• Inspection and testing
