Job Summary

The incumbent will manage the overall marketing process of all treasury products to international clients (excluding MENA region). The incumbent will manage the process of generating profitable International Treasury Product sales and in creating potential for the Group as a whole to leverage additional benefit from these sales.





Main Responsibilities

A. Shareholder & Financial:


  • Implements and leads the Group’s strategies to position its treasury as a major player in the international treasury segment.


  • Develop/ creates Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) created for the purpose of systematic performance monitoring and quality measurement purposes for the Desk and monitor their achievements.


  • Is involved in the setting and responsible for the achievement of set targets/ objectives, business growth and expansion for the International Treasury Sales Unit.


  • Implements and evaluates best practice work methods in area of responsibility to achieve optimum level of performance efficiency from the desk.


  • Implements KPI’s and best practices for Senior Vice President Treasury Sales International role.


  • Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimize cost, avoid waste, and optimize benefits for the bank.


B. Customer (Internal & External):


  • Builds and maintains strong and effective relationships with all other related units to achieve the International


  • Treasury Sales goals/objectives.


  • Provides timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors, the Compliance function and Group


  • Risk as and when required.


  • Maintains relationships with key International clients


  • To assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s product and seek solution to their requests.


  • Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.


  • Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group’s objectives.


  • Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk when required.


C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):


  • Ensures compliance to the department’s policies and procedures for conducting sales calls and visits, preparing presentation on products internally and externally, maintaining the contact database and maintaining/ collating


  • MIS pertaining to profitability/ revenue.


  • Develops new international relationships, within the delegated authority, and subsequently act as the main focal point for guidance and assistance in resolution of any contentious issues arising in the course of managing international relationships.


  • Liaises with the International Corporate Banking Division to identify potential customers and to cross sell treasury services in addition to delivering requisite training to International Corporate Banking staff on the treasury products and services that are provided by the Group.


  • Maintains the database for international treasury customers, ensuring its timely update after contact with potential and current QNB customers.


  • Networks with International customers and marketing groups within and outside QNB in order to solicit customer feedback, gain market intelligence, benchmark selling techniques and enhance the Group’s profile in the market.


  • Is involved in the product development process, in coordination with the SVP, Treasury Structured Products and Derivatives.


  • Monitors and enhances the product development process, provide timely update to the EVP, Group Treasury Sales on customer needs and new market opportunities.


  • Sets meetings and visits for self and subordinates with international customers


  • Ensures that all international treasury sales team members have a constructive personal working relationship through regular planned calling, visits, entertainment etc…. with the objective that the customer is responsive to our calls and considers the Group a strategic partner when in need of treasury products and services


  • Stay abreast of market and product developments in the area and update International Treasury Sales team and superiors.


  • Manages and maintains a well-motivated, well trained, focused team with a reputation for the highest standards of professionalism and ethical behavior to ensure a good name in the market.

D. Learning & Knowledge:


  • Monitors performance of direct repartee's and guide them in managing their performance by providing appropriate feedback.


  • Identifies related areas for professional development of self and all direct reports, and act to enhance professional development of self and others.


  • Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field.


  • Hold meetings with staff and assess their performance and your team's overall performance on a regular basis.


  • Take decisive action to ensure speedy resolution of unresolved grievances or conflicts within the team members.


  • Identify development opportunities and activities for staff and facilitate/coach them to improve their effectives and prepare them to assume greater responsibilities.


E. Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities:


  • Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements including, but not limited to, Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy).


  • Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defense principle to identify measure, monitor, manage and report risks.


  • Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy.


  • Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with the Operational Risk Management requirements.


  • Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role.


  • Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank, attain, and maintain the required levels of competence.


  • Attend mandatory (internal and external) seminars as instructed by the Bank.


F. Other:


  • Ensure high standards of data protection and confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.


  • Maintaining utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of business and provide such information on a need-to-know basis only to Senior Management of QNB, Audit and Compliance functions, and relevant Regulators.


  • Maintain high professional standards to uphold QNB's reputation and to strengthen its market leadership position.


  • All other ad hoc duties/activities related to QNB that management might request from time to time.





Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelors / Masters (Masters preferred), preferably with a Major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting,


  • Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology.


  • MBA, CFA, or a related professional certification is a plus.


  • Minimum 15 years treasury sales experience, preferably with corporate sales exposure in the Gulf.


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic (preferable).


  • Exceptional presentation skills.


  • Good MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


  • Good knowledge of a wide range of treasury products.


  • Analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with decision making ability.


  • A strong customer service orientation with exceptional knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM).


  • Must be able to work effectively under market pressures whilst maintaining risk control and limit compliance.


  • Proven marketing and sales skills.


  • Understanding of the relevant laws, regulations and practices.


  • Good interpersonal skills.


  • Ability to motivate and lead teams from diverse cultural backgrounds.


  • Undoubted ethical awareness and conscious of risks being undertaken.
