Quality Assurance Engineer (Manufacturing)
Summary
Quality Assurance Engineer developing inspection protocols and IQC/IPQC/OQC workflows for semiconductor capital-equipment assembly. Uses ISO 9001, AS9100, SEMI S2, GD&T, statistical process control (SPC, Cp/Cpk) in Minitab/JMP, and 8D/CAPA root-cause methodologies alongside Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Planning: Develop and maintain process control plans, inspection workflows, and SOPs for hardware equipment assembly.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct internal audits and process checks in alignment with ISO 9001, AS9100, and SEMI S2 standards.
- Quality Control: Establish incoming (IQC), in-process (IPQC), and outgoing (OQC) inspection protocols and oversee tool calibration registries.
- Problem Solving: Lead cross-functional root cause investigations and execute formal 8D, CAPA, and SCAR reports to closure.
- Continuous Improvement: Track statistical data trends (SPC, Cp/Cpk) using Minitab/JMP and implement Lean or Six Sigma initiatives.
- Design & Supplier Alignment: Review engineering blueprints for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and partner with suppliers on First Article Inspections (FAI).
- EH&S Compliance: Support workplace risk assessments and ensure absolute compliance with environment, health, and safety regulations.
🛠️ Job Requirements
- Education: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of quality engineering experience in semiconductor capital equipment or high-precision industrial machinery manufacturing.
- Certification: ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Lead Auditor training is highly preferred.
- Drawing Literacy: Absolute mandatory capability to read and interpret complex mechanical engineering drawings and GD&T blueprints.
- Industry Standards: Practical knowledge of semiconductor standards (SEMI), cleanroom protocols (ISO 14644), and contamination control.
- Software Skills: Proficient with statistical software (Minitab/JMP) and corporate ERP tools (SAP/Oracle/Agile).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical troubleshooting, clear communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
